Marko Janicki : about works of
fine art and inspiration.
Marko Janicki paints different subjects from nature in oils, mainly working on cardboard. His favorite subjects, however, are cityscapes and still lives. In cityscapes he shows his adoration for the charming pebbled streets of old city of Prague, 16th century houses mixed with buildings in Art Neauveau style, lanterns and cherry-trees, bridges and restaurants at night - all seems fantastic and worth sketching to this enthusiastic young artist. And still lives - which he finds in shop windows in downtown of Prague and paints them in front of the shop assistance and passer-byes, mostly during evenings - they give him the opportunity to discover beauty and harmony in mundane things, in a group of puppets in a toy shop or Chines statues in an oriental restaurant. The paintings of Marko Janicki are characterized with rich and very personal feeling of colors. |
